The Saudi International Medical education Conference (SIMEC)

The Saudi International Medical Education Conference is the foremost medical education conference in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It hosts the largest biannual gathering of medical educators in the country. SIMEC 2010 was the second conference held in this series, the first was held in the College of Medicine in King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh 2008.

SIMEC 2010 was hosted by the College of Meicine in Jazan University in April (6-8 April 2010). Many health professionals and researchers in the fields of medical and health sciences education; public health; and basic, clinical and social sciences participated in this international gathering. The key speakers were: Professor Nick Busing (President and CEO of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada), Professor Ronald M. Harden (Director of Medical Education Centre, University of Dundee, Scotland), Professor M. Brownell Anderson {Senior Director of Educational Affairs at the American Association for Medical Colleges (AAMC)}, Dr. David Barry Mayer (Assistant Dean for Curriculum, College of Medicine, University of Illinois, Chicago), Madalena Folque Patr {President of AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe)}, Dr. Zubair Amin (Assistant Dean, Deputy head, Medical Education Unit, Faculty of Medicine, The National University of Singapore),and so many other experts in the field of medical education.
